Stainless Steel Blind Flanges are generally made of chromium (18–20%), nickel (8–12%), and trace amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur. SS 304, SS 316, and SS 321 are often utilized. These flanges possess superior mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength (515–620 MPa), yield strength (205–310 MPa), and satisfactory elongation (minimum 40%). They possess superior corrosion resistance, particularly in chemical and marine environments, as well as superior weldability and formability. These characteristics make stainless steel blind flanges suitable for applications at high pressure and temperature.
